Cole Wyatt Casanova was born on February 5, 1997 in Dallas, Texas to Bev and Zelda Casanova. Cole began taking gymnastics classes at the age of 3 at The Little Gym. At the age 4, Cole was training at WOGA with Briley. By 2003, Cole had worked his way up to Class 7 at the age of 6. Kathy Austin Howell was his coach through level 6. Cole has placed in various events at several meets.
Cole won a silver medal in the vault in the 2009 level 7 Texas State Championships. Cole also finished 12th in the all-around as well as second on still rings at the 2009 Region III Championships. Cole, along with top 12 boys, made the 2009 Region III Level 7 Junior Development team. In 2010, Cole placed seventh overall at the Region III Championships and competed at the Junior Olympic Nationals. Currently, Cole is training as a level 10 with Sergei gymnast Pakanich at WOGA in Frisco and looks forward to competing in 2011.
Throughout Cole’s gymnastics career he has held a special interest in mixed martial arts. He was able to train regularly until March 2006 when he earned his second degree red belt (one step below black) while studying with Sensei Adrian Cardinas at the Eric Mattingly Cross Training Center. Cole plans to one day earn his black belt degree.
Each spring, Cole plays baseball on the PSA Cardinal team. Cole’s positions are second base, short stop and center field. He was selected as one of three to represent his team on the 2008 All Star Team. Cole is an avid Green Bay Packer football fan. He enjoys watching the Packers and collecting Green Bay Packer memorabilia. Cole is a straight “A” student and will be in the 7th grade this fall. Cole also enjoys playing Xbox Live Call of Duty 4 and Gears of War.
